Faith and Works (Which is it?)
|
| In Ephesians 2:8 and 9 Paul tells us “for by grace you have
been saved by faith...not by works lest anyone should boast”.
In James 2:17 the brother of Jesus says ... “faith by itself,
if it does not have works is dead”. Are these two great leaders
of the church being consistent or not? Join us this summer for an
exploration of both Ephesians and James in an interactive and lively
format. We will discuss this seeming inconsistency between faith
and works in depth as well as other important topics with practical
applications from these two books written to believers in the early
church. We will begin with Ephesians exploring such topics as predestination,
the church as the body and temple of God, spiritual gifts, relations
between husbands and wives and spiritual warfare. James is one of
the most practical books in the Bible with lessons on why we have
trials, faith and works, sins of the tongue and the power of prayer. |
