Kids World - Children's Ministry
|
Welcome
to the Children's Ministry program at SFC. We are so glad your family
has decided to come and join the fun at Kids World. The Kids World
programs are offered during the 9:00 & 10:30 services for
newborns through grade five. Programs run the same times as the main
worship services. Along with our Sunday School programs, we also
have other fun, family events such as "Jam 45", family
movie nights, parent/child special events, kids choir and more. For
more information about our programs, contact Debbie
Sturm. We look forward to meeting
you and your child!
SFC also has a program for children with disabilities, called
"Bridge Builders." Find out more about this
ministry.
Our Vision and Values
"Our ministry exists to reach children and
students, to connect them with Christians, to help them grow
in their faith, to challenge them to serve others using
their God-given gifts, and to honor God with their daily
lives."

| Values: Our values in children and student ministry have been woven
into the P.R.A.C.T.I.C.E. acrostic below. The definition of
"practice" is a "custom or habit of doing something." Within
children and student ministry, we want these values to be our custom,
our habit, and our P.R.A.C.T.I.C.E. |
| We strive to... |
Protect children and students with
an uncompromising safety process
Risk failure through innovation and reinvention of
programs
Affirm by honoring and valuing others through authentic
leadership
Create an exciting, fun learning environment with
excellence
Trust God for the impossible, the unknown and the unseen
Invest in others through open and honest relationships
Coach leaders to realize and fulfill their God-given
potential
Empower leaders, children and students
through active ministry opportunities |
| Our ministry to children and students is founded on two very
important chapters in the Bible, Matthew 22 and Matthew 28. In these
two chapters, we find the Great Commandment and the Great
Commission. |
The Great Commandment says:
|
| Matthew 22:34 — Hearing
that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together.
One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:
"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?"
Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart
and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first
and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your
neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these
two commandments." |
The Great Commission says:
|
| Matthew 28:18 — Then
Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on
earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and
of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have
commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of
the age." |
