Launch of a New Ministry
|
Kurt & Karyn Morrill
Kurt and Karyn Morrill feel called to start a cross-cultural
outreach to students. They are beginning a two year ministry
to Muslim university students in France. Their goals are to build a
community of students who are new believers, and to disciple them,
and enable them to share their faith with others. The Morrills
will be working in partnership with the local church and the
International Fellowship of Evangelical Students. |
| Both Kurt and Karyn grew up in this area. Kurt
came to faith at Saratoga Federated Church in 1993 at a youth
event. After attending West Valley College, Kurt and Karyn
transferred to UC Santa Barbara and majored in foreign
languages. Since graduation, Kurt has been working on staff
with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship in Santa Barbara, and Karyn
has been teaching high school Spanish and French. They have
led 2 summer mission projects to Sarajevo, Bosnia which ministered
to Muslims and Eastern Orthodox people there. |
| Kurt and Karyn have received a Christian
Service Support Grant from Saratoga Federated Church to assist
them in the launch of this ministry. Please pray for them as
they step out in faith and follow the leading of the Holy
Spirit. Pray for bold faith and keen discernment in
interactions with the students, and for protection in the spiritual
battle and political conflict involved when Christians reach out to
people from Muslim cultures. |
| God desires that our compassion be discerning and
actively engaged: "He has told you, O
mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to
do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your
God." Micah 6:8 |
