Doug
and Ann have been on staff with Campus Crusade for over thirty years
and are involved in a variety of ministries in the United States and
abroad. Currently their primary focus is to help resource Campus
Crusade country and city directors in areas that have or are
currently developing community ministries in the Middle East, North
Africa and Central Asia. The Johnson's are also involved in
recruiting and mobilizing both short and long-term missionary teams
to pioneer new areas, assist existing staff in mission areas, and go
into work in these specific countries full time.
When asked, What compels you to give
your life to ministering in light of other options you may have had
regarding career and where to live, Ann answered,
"Because we saw and still see God at work in 'closed' country
we enjoy being involved in helping others in the steps to seeing
their lives used in a movement of God both individually and as a
community."
In addition to serving abroad Doug and Ann actively minister in
their hometown of Longmont, Colorado. Doug created and teaches an
eight week series on Exploring Islam which he produced before the
events of 9/11. He has seen interest in this course grow
significantly since that time. The study covers scriptural
motivation for reaching Muslims, the history and background of
Islam, apologetics, and most often asked questions concerning
Muslims. He and Ann are intentional about creating and maintaining
relationships with Muslims in their community and abroad in hopes of
training and discipling leaders who can go back to their countries
and accomplish the Great Commission. Doug and Ann have three
daughters and also have a personal ministry with professionals and
business' in Longmont.
They welcome anyone who would like to join them for a missions
project.
