Political
and religious terrorism remains high in the Philippines but Nonilo
Sanchez brings the good news of the gospel to a country increasingly
subject to attacks by Islamic extremists. Nonilo's story is
fascinating. While on the verge of going underground to fight
against the government, he became a Christian when God sent someone
to tell him about hope and new life in Christ. More than 20 years
have passed and since that time Nonilo has had an unwavering
determination to take the gospel message wherever the Lord sends
him, especially to the Communist and Muslim areas of the
Philippines.
His ministry, Sola Gratia Ministries Inc. (SGMI) was approved by
the Philippine government in 2002. Since then SGMI has planted more
than 16 churches in eight provinces of the Philippines and are
expanding in the islands. More than 100 pastors and missionaries
have been trained through Sola Gratia's Mobile School of Theology
and Ministry. In addition to church planting and teaching classes
through the Mobile School, Sola Gratia also hosts a radio program,
and conducts annual Pastor's conferences (which SGMI developed),
Bible camps, and missionary boot camps.
Nonilo's family is an intricate part of the ministry. His wife
Fely works in SGMI's office while son Amiel is the Youth Pastor in
their home church and part of the Mobile School's teaching team.
Their youngest son Kemuel is attending his first year of Science
High School, their daughter Kristine is in her second year of
college, and their eldest son Keith Andrew is in his first year of
medical school.
