Church Foundation
Endowing Future Ministry |
| Our mission is to anticipate needs for long-term
funds in four major categories. These needs occur at unpredictable
times (e.g., the sudden availability of a neighboring property, or
the need to find affordable housing for a new pastor) and
significant capital must be available when required. We welcome your
help to meet the following challenges through current gifts or
estate plans. |
| Pastoral Housing - Our
pastors need to reside in west valley towns to best fulfill their
positions. Long commutes are incompatible with needed availability.
Property values in our area require us to assist each new pastor
values in our area require us to assist each new pastor hired with a
shared-equity investment. Two pastors are currently benefiting from
this arrangement. Our long-term goal is to build a dedicated equity
base that allows us to call any pastor we desire to serve and live
in reasonable proximity to our church. |
| Property Acquisition - have
a campus master plan. Being land-locked on a small city block,
situated between busy streets, has required advance planning. In
particular, we have a critical need to improve off street parking.
Foundation Directors find it essential that we acquire any
contiguous property, internal to our block, that becomes available.
Currently one parcel is being offered to us by the Saratoga Fire
District, that provides additional parking and a direct egress to
the Oak Street intersection. The anticipated cost of that parcel
with related improvements is around $550,000. Two other privately
owned parcels are ideally situated for our future use, and may
become available to us in the future but no timeline is predictable
at this point. |
| Major Capital Projects - Our
buildings need periodic remodel and/or construction to optimize
their usefulness for changing congregational needs. We recently
completed a major remodel of all of our current facilities, except
for the chapel and sanctuary. Our sanctuary is in need of several
major improvements. Air conditioning, sound clarity, and worship
leader visibility are all overdue needs. We want to increase the
size and usefulness of the front platform (chancel), and provide
handicap access to that area. During our recent construction
project, we secured design review approval and a building permit for
a well-conceived sanctuary remodel. It is imperative that we
demonstrate periodic progress in this work to preserve these
important City approvals. This year, in fulfillment of our permit,
we need to complete the first phases of this work ($50,000). Exhibit
2 shows the proposed chancel layout. |
| Outreach Endowment - Our
experience with Above and Beyond outreach projects has been
wonderful. It has deepened the culture of our church. The Foundation
would like to facilitate this spirit over many decades. Their desire
is that we build a fund that can resource outreach adventures as the
Holy Spirit brings them to life. Once we complete our capital
campaign, the Foundation will be eager to receive gifts and bequests
toward this fund. |
| The Foundation allows members and friends of our
church to make donations, large or small, one-time or periodic,
including capital or property toward the future health and ministry
of our church. Gifts to the Foundation will not be consumed, but
will provide continuing benefits for the church, its future members
and the community. If you have questions about the Foundation, feel
free to contact one of the Directors: Wade Meyercord, Arlene
Anderson, Rick Burgess, Jim Gifford, Bob Leonard, Carl Liljenstolpe. |
