Herb
and I left on September 13, for Kenya to build a bridge in the Masai
Mara. This bridge will save many from drowning but also cuts the
peoples travel time so they will lose less lives from wild animal
attacks while walking to their village or school. Harmon, our
missionary friend, has built 35 bridges and estimates 1, 200,000
people cross them safely each year. He uses the bridge as a metaphor
to tell the story of how Christ laid his life down for us so we can
pass safely from earth to heaven.
Last month Harmon had to walk five miles out of his way along the
rivers edge to avoid the elephants and lions in the tall grass.
Please pray for our safety while driving the roads and driving
habits are treacherous. Please pray for good weather for when it
rains there is no shelter. We get soaked and the mud slows
everything down on the building process. This region is not as
dangerous as far as the people like we experienced in the West Pokot
but there is a high danger from the wild animals and vipers. We also
would appreciate prayers for our health and divine appointments to
share about Christ. We'll be back November 1.
Love,
