Our congregation
is blessed with many people working within the Worship and
Congregational Life Ministry. These servants faithfully give
their time and expertise in a wide variety of ministries
that utilize the specific talents God has blessed them with
and continue their journey of transformation to become more
Christ-like. We encourage everyone to consider involvement
in one of the ministry areas listed below. Contact Marguerite
McAfee for more information. |

| Media Projection Team - Today we are
surrounded by hundreds of media messages every day... television,
movies, billboards, computer screens, cell phone screens...
messages intended to influence our thoughts and choices. At
SFC we project words to songs of worship on our screens every
Sunday. Sometimes we project words that we read together as
an affirmation of a truth or promise of God. We project announcements
prior to the services, as invitations or reminders of opportunities
to serve or be served. We see videos of mission projects or
SFC events or teaching tools. Media is a powerful tool... and
one that we can use to offer a powerful message. We currently
have a great team of three projectionists, but are praying
for at least one more person to join them on a rotating Sunday
schedule. This is a perfect spot for someone who likes serving
in the background, while providing strategic support. Interested?
Contact Bill or Diane Allison by email or
at (408)867-1000. |
| Communion Preparation – Prepare communion
trays for the worship services. Rotating team members allow
for flexible scheduling. This is a behind-the-scenes act of
service involving 1-2 hours on Friday or Saturday. |
| Courtyard Café – Help create a welcoming,
casual environment on the courtyard, where fellowship and friendship
can flourish. We provide coffee and goodies for members and
guests on Sunday. |
| Flower Team – Use your God given gift
of creativity to enhance the worship experience for the congregation
on Sundays and special events. |
| Green (Parking Lot) Team – This awesome
team directs traffic, finds parking spaces, puts umbrellas
over heads, is the first contact for visitors and they get
to wear the vests. |
| Greeters – Let people know that we're
glad they are here on Sunday and welcome them at the entrance
to the Sanctuary as they arrive for worship. Lead visitors
to the Hospitality Center. Give mini-tours to newcomers. |
| Hospitality Center – Our 'hub of information'
is another great opportunity to fellowship while distributing
class schedules, flyers, first-timer gifts, and just about
everything SFC to interested individuals on Sunday morning
once or twice a month. |
| Music (vocalists/instrumentalists)– Help
to lead worship on Sunday mornings as a member of one of our
singing or instrumental teams: Celebration
Choir, Expressions of Worship, 9:00 am Worship Band, Orchestra,
or Handbell Choir. |
| Pew Maintenance – Refresh the various
pew cards, put out new Bibles, hymnals or pencils. Requires
one to two hours a week. |
| Sound & Lighting Technician – Help
with set up and operation of sound and lights for special events,
tech needs for various ministries, and for other needs that
arise. |
| Welcome Team (Ushers) – Greet members
and guests, pass out bulletins, help with the collection of
the offering and serve communion. We welcome new team members
at all services. |
|
| Other servants are consistently working to utilize
the technology that is available to create more opportunities
to see and hear the message of life transformation, ministry
expansion and heart renovation. If you have experience or interest
(training will be provided) in the teams that comprise the
Communication Ministry please contact Nicki Mierzejewski (408)
867-1000, ext. 250 or by email. |
| Video/Photo Development – We would like
to expand this creative team to provide more extensive use
of video and photos for promotional materials, as well as,
reporting of missions trips, clips to illustrate points in
sermons or classes, outreach videos, and other possibilities. |
| Web Integration – If you have skills
in web development and integration, please consider joining
this key communication team. |
| Audio Technician – People often ask for
recordings of Adult Sunday school classes, seminars and conferences.
We would like to make those materials available. If you have
skills in capturing, editing, or distributing such content
or if you have ideas about creative uses of audio that we have
not yet realized, please let us know. |
| NEW Database Management – We have numerous
database projects in need of development. We have projects
of every size and shape that are possible with the right skills
to bring them to life. If you can design (with staff input)
and program, we would like to hear from you. |

Robin Hood Ministry - Serving the Poor in San
Jose
About twenty minutes from our church, in east San Jose, an old double
trailer sits on the edge of the parking lot of the Guadalupe Church.
No one lives inside; instead, it is used as a clothes closet to serve
the working poor. Their doors are open for distribution every Wednesday
morning and Saturday morning. |
| If you are interested in contributing used clothing,
bedding or furniture, please leave a message for Pam Glader at (408)867-1000,
ext. 401. If you would like to join the group of a dozen men who
take turns picking up and delivering furniture on Saturdays, contact
Keith Fraker at 408-867-7830. This is your chance to receive a blessing. |
Office Helpers
We have monthly mailings of the newsletter, as well as other special

setup, organizing, computer input, and craft preparation. Contact Debbie

Adults are needed to disciple and mentor our teenagers. Women
willing to work with our Jr. High and Sr. High students are especially
needed. Contact Tim
Galleher for all the details. |

Join the crew on Thursday mornings, 9:00 to noon, or let Jerry
Bruce know of other times when you are available for one-time

Would you like to help in the Hospitality Center on Sundays? We
are looking for people to help greet people and provide information
at the Hospitality Center in the courtyard (You know, the place
that looks like a ticket booth). Please contact Nicki in the office
for more information. Email works too: Terri
Goehner or Nicki
Mierzejewski. |
